Hvítahús is a residency program for artists and an art gallery. It's located just next to the Snæfellsnesþjóðgarður National Park. Surrounded by astonishing landscapes, special sea biosphere and bird life. The Hvítahús was restored in 2010 by Steingerdur Johannsdottir and Arni Emanuelsson. It includes a fully equipped residency floor with a bedroom, toilet, kitchen and living room, a 30m² double-height studio/ exhibition hall and gallery facilities. Hvítahús was originally an ice storage (íshús), and is now the only remaining building from the old Krossavik harbour. The recently renovated Hviíahús preserves its original characteristics and structure.
